EasyBilling vs Zoho Books

Zoho Books is a proper accounting package with a free tier for small turnovers, and if you have an accountant who lives in it, that counts for a lot.

So this page is not going to tell you Zoho Books is bad. It sets out where the two are genuinely built differently, so you can tell which difference matters in your shop.

Questions

Should a shop use Zoho Books or EasyBilling?

Zoho Books is accounting software that can bill. EasyBilling is billing and stock software that handles GST. If your day is a counter, a barcode scanner and a stock shelf, EasyBilling fits that day; if your day is ledgers, reconciliations and an accountant, Zoho Books fits yours.

Does EasyBilling work when the internet is down, like Zoho Books cannot?

Yes. The Windows app bills with no connection at all, which matters in a shop where the broadband is not reliable. Zoho Books is cloud-only, so no internet means no billing.

The short version

If your shop bills at a counter, keeps stock, and cannot afford to stop when the broadband does, a desktop app you own plus a browser for everyone else is the right shape — and that is what EasyBilling is. Try it on a real day of billing and you will know within an hour.
